The General Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry works to represent the private and mixed industrial and commercial sectors in local and foreign forums, express related issues, and explore ways to reduce obstacles and reduce difficulties that stand in the way of developing the economy, improving the work environment, and creating more suitable opportunities for its growth and prosperity.

 The leadership of the federation is working to restore the role entrusted to it, whose activities and activities have been negatively affected by the exceptional circumstances the country is going through... by developing work strategies and activating performance mechanisms to ensure effective results on the entire national economy.

 In this corner, we met Mr. Abu Bakr Salem Baobaid, Vice-President of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry for the Commercial Sector. We discussed with him a number of issues related to the Federation. To the end:

. The return of the periodic meetings of the federation .. To what extent will stimulate the activities of the federation and its work?

.. The General Federation of Chambers of Commerce is going through an exceptional phase that has negatively affected its performance due to the war, like other public and private sectors whose activities have faltered and some of them have closed their doors due to their inability to fulfill their obligations.. And the return of the Federation to play the role entrusted to it was an urgent necessity imposed by the current stage in order to restore the national economy to its strength. Standing on its feet again.. and the return of the periodic meetings will allow the leadership of the federation to see the developments, discuss plans and agendas, update strategies, analyze obstacles and obstacles, and search for practical solutions to them on a timely basis.. This is an important step in the right direction.

The media is an essential partner

. What are your top priorities during the next stage?

.. One of our top priorities during the current stage is to strengthen partnership with means to enhance the importance of the role of the Federation for all stakeholders in the public and private sectors with regard to the activities and events carried out by the Federation and to be informed of them by merchants, the private sector and chambers, and to shed light on its continuous efforts and achievements at both levels. Local and external..which will contribute to restoring confidence between them and the federation  as a prerequisite for effective partnership and the desired integration..At the same time, the media spread will contribute to conveying the federation's voice to the concerned authorities inside and outside the country for the interest of the national economy, both private and mixed.. Hence the importance of activating the Communication channels of the Federation with the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the governorates, the private sector and the government.

performance development

. What are your most important plans and projects to develop performance and improve the work environment?

.. The leadership of the federation is working hard to develop the performance of the federation at various levels, and we have recently developed a communication and media strategy, as well as updating the data of the commercial and industrial sector.. In fact, the implementation of the new strategy has begun, which will activate the communication channels of the federation with the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the governorates and the private sector. And the government.. appreciating the ILO’s support for the strategy.. Implementation of the new strategy is a top priority for the leadership of the federation , where the implementation of what came in succession and in an orderly manner through continuous follow-up by the leadership of the federation until it is completed within the specified period.. and we will work during the next stage on Developing work programs to ensure overcoming obstacles, achieving goals and ambitions, changing the reality of the economy and improving its environment.

Building a bridge of trust

. In your opinion, what are the best mechanisms to enhance integration and partnership between the Federation and the Chambers?

.. Convergence of views and working to build bridges of trust are among the most important steps of constructive communication and creative integration.. True partnership and permanent networking between the Federation and the Chambers is a prerequisite, and the Chambers are a prerequisite for achieving the desired goals and serving common interests.. The Federation in the first place exists for the sake of serving the Chambers in different provinces.

 . Developing the national economy, both public and private, is one of the most important goals of establishing the federation .. How do you evaluate the role of the federation in this regard?

The national economy develops by relying on the public, private and mixed sectors, as they are sectors that complement each other, and any defect in one of them will eventually lead to the other as being sides of the same currency.. The role of the federation is to create trust between the public, private and mixed sectors and direct their activities for the interest of the national economy, its development and prosperity.. Therefore, the Federation works hard to ensure a healthy work environment in which the economy thrives and the reality of life for citizens throughout the country improves.

Create resources

. Strengthening resources is one of the most important factors that contribute to developing the performance of institutions.. What are your plans in this aspect?

Certainly, the presence of resources and working to create them is one of the most important foundations for the continuation of the activity of any institution, and without resources, failure will be inevitable.. Therefore, the leadership of the federation  will work during the current and future stage to generate and sustain resources by exploiting our capabilities and networking with the relevant authorities.

There are a number of activities that are among the competencies of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce and that can achieve financial resources that help in the effectiveness and continuity of its activities.. such as holding trade fairs, for example.. What is the reason in your opinion?

.. It is very important for the federation  to exploit all activities that create resources that contribute to its effectiveness and achieve the goals for which it was established .. and to benefit from any activity or activity that falls within the context of its competencies .. and that according to a well-prepared work plan and implemented with care and follow-up of efficient and active leadership until it is completed Exploiting it optimally, but the overlapping of specializations and the lack of awareness prevent this.

neutralization of the economy

. There are repeated calls to neutralize the economy in order to preserve the continuity of life, even at a minimum, which is a necessity at the present time.. Where does the federation stand in this matter?

The economy is the backbone of life and an essential condition for its continuity. Of course, the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce stands with repeated calls to neutralize the national economy and provide the appropriate atmosphere for the continuation of its activities and activities and its dynamic movement in light of ensuring the freedom of commercial movement so that it is a strong economy conducive to a secure state and a stable system.

.. My message to the leadership of the federation and the chambers is solidarity and cohesion and not allowing the prejudiced people to divide and discord and achieve malicious goals, as they are two parts of one face.. and we call on the private sector to rely on the federation and give it the opportunity to express it. .. The strength of the national economy is part of the strength of the federation .. He prayed to God Almighty to return to our Yemen peaceful and stable enjoying its wealth and bounties.
