Today, Sunday, October 27, 2024, the advanced training program in solar energy for the design, installation, and operation of solar-powered water pumping systems was concluded. This initiative is part of the activities of the project supporting livelihoods, food security, and climate adaptation, with support from the European Union and the Swedish government, implemented by the International Labour Organization (ILO) in partnership with the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Yemen
The program aimed, over two weeks, to equip 20 trainees from the targeted groups with the necessary skills and expertise in the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of solar-powered water pumping systems
During the closing ceremony, the Deputy President of the Federation, Mr. Mohamed Mohamed Salah, expressed gratitude to the ILO for its efforts in developing business organizations in various fields, represented by Mr. Ali Dhahq, the ILO National Coordinator, and Mr. Tawfiq Jabir, the Project Coordinator for Livelihood Support, Food Security, and Climate Adaptation, who have played a significant role in continuing support for the Federation and chambers in various training aspects to develop their work
He also thanked the companies: Abdul Majid Al-Wahbani, Al-Raabi Trading, and Al-Bakri Trading, which contributed to supporting the program. The Deputy President acknowledged the significant efforts made by the trainers and the coordination committee of the program within the Federation
He urged the trainees to apply the practical skills and experiences they gained during the program in their professional lives and to enrich the job market with specialized skills in solar energy, wishing them success and prosperity
For his part, Mr. Ali Dhahq thanked the Federation leadership for successfully organizing this program, emphasizing that such programs represent true partnership through which knowledge, skills, and new technologies are disseminated. This, in turn, helps strengthen connectivity and networking between the Federation and commercial chambers in the provinces, as well as the private sector, especially since the shift toward solar energy and its applications has become a global trend. It is vital for the private sector to take advantage of the opportunities available in this field
Trainer Mohamed Said Al-Maqtari noted that the trainees demonstrated commitment and interaction throughout the training, proving that their selection to participate was not random but rather made with care to ensure that the efforts invested in this area were not wasted
During the conclusion of the first group's training, certificates of appreciation and complete equipment kits were distributed to the trainees, along with other tangible gifts provided by Al-Raabi and Al-Bakri companies
It is worth mentioning that the trainees received practical training at Al-Wahbani Group for Solar Energy for two days, during which they installed and operated solar-powered pumps under the supervision of a specialized trainer
The practical training included the installation of pumps at several farms that utilize this type of pumping system
Participants in the program expressed their significant benefit from the program's themes, which addressed their professional needs and requirements, helping them develop their skills comprehensively in both theoretical and practical aspect
The opening was attended by the General Director of the Federation, Mr. Mohamed Mohamed Qaflah, the Chairman of the Renewable Energy Committee, Mr. Ahmed Zabara, and the Deputy Chairman of the Committee, Mr. Mohamed Al-Salwi.#FYCCI
