Today in Sana'a I started the Food, Agricultural and Industrial Forum between Challenges and Opportunities to Achieve Food Security, which is organized over two days by the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in cooperation with Buruj Yemen.

 At the opening of the forum, member of the Supreme Political Council, Mohammed Saleh Al-Nuaimi, stressed the importance of achieving economic integration between the industrial and agricultural sectors to develop food industries in a way that contributes to achieving self-sufficiency in food and agricultural commodities, improving overall economic growth rates and achieving sustainable development.

 He urged the need to encourage and support productive families to enable them to overcome the difficulties facing local production in the food industry sector.

 He directed the formation of a joint committee from the Ministries of Industry and Trade, Agriculture and Irrigation, and Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry to determine appropriate mechanisms for localizing local industries and solving the problem of marketing small enterprise products.

 Al-Nuaimi appreciated the efforts of Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Buruj Yemen Foundation for Marketing and Organizing Exhibitions in establishing the forum and exhibition to discuss and present the most prominent problems and challenges facing the food industry sector in Yemen and try to come up with practical recommendations that would be a starting point for its development within the framework of achieving our food security.. stressing the readiness of the state and government to provide all  Types of support and facilities for the national food industries, due to its importance in the national economy, reducing the import bill, and localizing and replacing local industries.

 At the opening of the forum, in the presence of the Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation, Eng. Abdul-Malik Al-Thawr, the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Ahmed Mohammed Al-Shutari, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, Ibrahim Sharaf, the Undersecretary of the Capital Municipality, Ali Shuraim, and the Head of the Civil Defense Authority, Major General Ibrahim Al-Moayyed, the Director General of Federation Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Taha Al-Mahbashi, reviewed the objectives and importance of the forum.  In highlighting the importance of the food industries sector within the framework of the country's higher economic goals aimed at achieving self-sufficiency in food and agricultural commodities, improving overall economic growth rates, and achieving sustainable development.

 He pointed out that the forum would work to strengthen aspects of partnership between the government and the private sector to discuss one of the most important issues of concern to all governmental and private bodies and institutions, civil society organizations and members of society in general.

 He stressed the importance of coming up with solutions and treatments commensurate with our reality and our capabilities, bringing about a real transformation in our economic, agricultural and developmental reality, and ensuring an effective partnership between the government, the private sector, civil society, researchers and academics. Pointing to the Union’s readiness to enhance cooperation and partnership to achieve the goals of localization and replacement of many local industries instead of imports and solving a problem.  Marketing small business products.

 In turn, Director of Brooj Yemen Foundation for Marketing and Exhibition Organizing, Ali Al-Sharif, pointed out that the forum aims to exchange experiences among participants to develop the field of food industries.#Fycci
