Tasks of the Tourism, Travel and Environment Committee

Explanatory Introduction: - The tasks of the committee were first established when it was established in July 2005. And improved its functions in October 2009. Then the tasks and terms of reference of the committee were improved in accordance with the work plan of the specialized committees for the year 2011. By adding sectors: tourism transport, environment and several other services related to tourism, as follows:

1. The scope of work of the Tourism, Travel and Environment Committee and its terms of reference include the following economic, tourism and service sectors of the private sector:

• Tourist companies

• Tourist agencies

• Travel and airline agencies

• Tourist hotels

• Hotels and hotel services

• Parks and tourist gardens, and public tourist facilities of all kinds.

• Hajj and Umrah companies, agencies and offices

• Tourist restaurants (modern and large)

• Other miscellaneous travel and tourism services companies and offices

• Tourist transport, car rental companies and offices

• Private companies for promotion, tourism flags, and websites.

2. The scope of the work of the Tourism, Travel and Environment Committee and its specializations include the activity and work of the private sector in the following service sectors that are complementary to the tourism sector: products of a tourist nature - services of tour guides - entertainment and culture services, foremost of which are theaters, cinemas and teams Dance and show.

3. The scope of work of the Tourism, Travel and Environment Committee and its specializations in the field of environment include various forms of private sector activity in the field of environment: companies working in the field of environment and environmental projects - environmental offices and companies, environmental consultancy and studies - renewable and clean energy companies, Companies working in the fields and projects of preserving the environment.

4. The committee works on developing the activities of the private sector in the sectors of tourism, travel, hotel, and environmental tourism transport and cooperates with official government directions to give tourism, travel and the environment the attention they deserve, especially the field of tourism due to its importance in the national economy.

5. Coordination with the Board of Directors, the President of the Federation, the General Administration of the Federation and the rest of the specialized committees of the Federation in order to enhance the effectiveness of the activity of the tourism and hotel sectors, tourism transport sectors, tourism services and the environment of the private sector.

6. The committee works on developing and modernizing various tourism and hotel companies and facilities and other sectors and services that come within the committee’s competencies and assisting it in that, and improving its performance of its work and services.

7. Strengthening the institutional relationship between the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce and the entities of the tourism and hotel sector, travel and tourism transport, tourism services and the environment (primarily: the Yemeni Federation of Hotels and the Yemeni Federation of Tourism, and others) in a way that enhances the ability of the Federation to carry out To carry out the tasks entrusted to it and to achieve positive trends for tourism development.

8. Strengthening the joint relationship between the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce and the official entities that have a relationship with the sectors affiliated to the committee (such as: the Ministry of Tourism) to serve the business and the common positive trends of tourism development, and work to protect the interests of investors in these sectors.

9. Discussing issues related to obstacles related to tourism activity, tourism services, tourism transport and the environment with each of the groups and sectors operating in them, whether within or outside the frameworks of the Federation, with the aim of helping to overcome them and end what those sectors, groups and facilities face Of challenges, problems and difficulties.

10. Involve the committee and the leadership of the union in the follow-up of the concerned authorities to set a clear policy and effective controls to facilitate grouping of pilgrims and pilgrims away from moodiness and randomness, and similar issues.

11. Paying attention to tourism promotion as it is one of the most important means of promoting this sector. And coordination regarding promotion with the specialized specialized committee and the Tourism Promotion Council. As well as participating in external tourism and environmental events and external tourism exhibitions.

12. Preparing studies and research on the activities of each of the committee's sub-sectors. And submit proposals that serve the purposes of developing each of them.

13. Follow-up by the government regarding accidents and security imbalances that negatively affect tourism in Yemen and help to develop sound and urgent solutions to them and end their negative impact on tourism activity

14. The committee coordinates its work and activities in the aspects of tourism and the environment in order to develop ecotourism.

15. Giving special attention to encouraging companies working in the fields of renewable energy that do not harm the environment, and encouraging investment in this field. And coordinate with local, foreign and international organizations and bodies interested in the environment regarding the contribution of the private sector to its activities and events.

16. The committee sponsors the private sector's contribution to the work and activities of the government, the state, society and civil society organizations in protecting the environment, and it supervises this care and its practical implementation.

17. The committee works to encourage companies and institutions affiliated with the private sector that own companies in the field of environment, or that carry out work related to the environment, as well as those that work in setting up environmental projects, as well as companies and institutions that establish and own projects and factories Environmentally friendly .
