Explanatory Introduction: - The tasks of the committee were first established when it was established in July 2005. And expanded its functions in October 2009. By adding a wide informatics sector. Then its tasks and competencies were expanded as follows in January 2011. According to the work plan of the union committees for the year 2011. :



 



 


1. The Communications, Transport and Informatics Committee is concerned with the affairs of companies, institutions and offices of the private sector that work in the various fields of informatics of systems, electronic devices, software and systems, the information sector and various consultancies, and in the areas of local and satellite telephone communications and telephone companies And in the areas of land, sea and air transport. . As well as all types of services related to or affiliated with the three domains.


2. Supervising the aspects of intellectual rights and patents in the sectors of communications, transportation, information and other industrial, commercial and service sectors for the private sector, by considering the committee to be the specialized committee mainly in these two aspects and coordinating its work in them with the rest of the other specialized committees of the Federation and the Public Administration Union and the leadership of the Union.



3. Paying attention to the conditions and requirements of the information and technology sector companies, companies, institutions, offices and informatics laboratories: information systems and networks and their technologies, computer companies, programming and the Internet, and commercial companies for equipment and devices in these fields. And in proportion to the characteristics of each of them and the nature of their work. And discuss issues related to the obstacles and problems of this sector and work to solve them.



4. Paying attention to the conditions and requirements of the telecommunications sector companies: the various telecommunications companies and institutions, local, international, mobile, and satellite. And commercial companies for phones, equipment and devices in these fields in proportion to the characteristics of each of them and the nature of their work. And discuss issues related to the obstacles and problems of this sector and work to solve them.



5. Paying attention to the conditions and requirements of the consulting and information sector companies of the private sector: companies, institutions and offices of advisory services and information: scientific, technical, technical and social consulting companies and offices. And information services companies, commercial, industrial and service consultancy, and companies and offices of administrative, financial and accounting advisory services, and commercial and economic studies and feasibility studies. and others. And discuss issues related to the obstacles and problems of the consulting and information services sector and work to solve them.



6. Paying attention to the conditions and requirements of the transport sector companies: marine navigation companies and their service providers. Private companies to transport goods and services. Yemeni private sector airlines. Private companies for the transport of individuals and groups, internal and international. And discuss issues related to the obstacles and problems of the transport sector and work to solve them.



7. Paying attention to the conditions and requirements of modern technology companies, institutions and offices, intellectual rights, patents, and companies working in the field of introducing technology and inventions in industry, services and other fields. And discuss issues related to the obstacles and problems of its activity and work to solve them.



8. The committee works on developing and modernizing companies, institutions, laboratories, factories and offices operating in the five sectors that the committee specializes in: the informatics sector - the telecommunications sector - the consulting and information sector - the transport sector - the intellectual rights sector, patents and technology.



9. Introducing the private sector to the global technical, technological and informational progress in various ways, and proposing programs in order to create opportunities to benefit from it by the Yemeni private sector. And work on the development and expansion of scientific services and the use of computer systems and information technology in the work of companies and private institutions.



10. Coordination with the Board of Directors, the President of the Federation, the General Administration of the Federation and the rest of the committees to enhance the effectiveness of the activity of the telecom sector companies and solve their problems, especially with the tax authorities, as well as expanding and organizing the various transport sectors and strengthening the role of the private sector in it.



11. Participation in Arab and international events in the field of communications, transportation, informatics and technology, consultancy and information, intellectual rights and inventions, and work to benefit from their results inside Yemen, especially with factories, companies and various private institutions.



12. Develop a program on how to achieve an appropriate technical, information and technological level in the various sectors of private sector activity, and develop a plan whose implementation will lead to the provision of information and advisory services required for the private sector. And work to implement it in cooperation with the Federation and its specialized committees, chambers of commerce and industry and other private sector bodies.



13. The committee works on developing and improving the conditions of land, sea and air transport companies and assisting them in increasing and expanding their capabilities in various possible ways, as well as assisting them in improving their performance and services, especially in the field of international external transport and investment in the field of joint transport companies. with other countries.



14. Strengthening the institutional relationship between the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce and the Committee with the ministries and government bodies concerned with the Committee's work sectors, as well as with union entities and civil society, such as: transport unions and associations. For example but not limited to .



15. Follow up on the private sector's contribution to the upcoming railway projects in Yemen.



17. The Committee works to organize the commercial companies dealing in the areas of competence and tasks of the Committee and to cooperate among them to solve the difficulties and obstacles they face, exchange experiences among them, and develop and improve their business and commercial activities.
