The contracting and construction sector is one of the most important economic sectors, as it represents a fundamental pillar of the pillars on which economies are based, in addition to its significant contribution to developing the infrastructure necessary for the growth and development of various economic and social sectors, attracting and stimulating local and foreign investments, as well as stimulating economic activity and supporting the local economy as a result of the contracting sector purchasing modern materials.

The Federation has prepared a working paper entitled “The Role of the Contracting Sector in Reconstruction and Recovery.” This paper aims to review the reality of the contracting sector in Yemen in light of the exceptional circumstances that Yemen is experiencing as a result of the conflict and war, and to clarify the challenges and obstacles facing this sector that have limited its capabilities and contributed to the decline in its performance during the past period, and then to present a set of visions and practical proposals necessary to improve the sector’s performance and restore its economic, social and humanitarian role during the coming period.

The methodology for preparing this paper relied on combining desk analysis of studies, reports and statistics related to the subject of the paper, in addition to the participatory methodology with beneficiaries and stakeholders by circulating the draft paper to all Yemeni Chambers of Commerce and Industry and members of the specialized committees in the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce and benefiting from their comments.#FYCCI To view the paper, please download it from the following link: https://fycci-ye.org/upload/1727000191.pdf
