Tasks of the Health and Medicines Committee
1- The field of work of the Health and Medicines Committee, the affairs of the activity of units, institutions and centers of the private sector in the various medical services sectors and the pharmaceutical sector and their distribution, and these sectors include:
• Basic health and medical services centers, facilities and institutions: hospitals and medical clinics.
• Specialized medical clinics and primary medicine clinics.
• Medical laboratories and various health and medical examination centers.
• Pharmaceutical factories.
• Companies importing, distributing and selling medicines.
• Companies importing, distributing and selling medical supplies, tools and machines.
• Pharmacies.
• Centers and hospitals for psychiatry and psychiatry
• Physiotherapy centers and facilities.
2- The tasks and competencies of the Health and Medicines Committee include the tasks and services of medical, health treatment and medicine sub-fields of work, the most important of which are:
• Medical standards and medical specialties
• Health Awareness, and Drug Awareness
• Specifications, standards and quality of medicines
• Specifications, standards and quality of medical supplies, tools and machines.
• Offices and centers of health and medical advice.
• Medical research and pharmacological scientific research
• Medical and health services abroad
3- The committee's tasks and competencies in the fields of health and medicines include holding seminars, conferences and scientific courses on various aspects of its work and its affiliated sectors.
4- Paying attention to the conditions of the various health and medicine facilities and the various health and medical service units of the private sector, organizing them and improving the various services they provide. As well as solving the difficulties and problems it faces in its activities and works. This is according to the nature of the work and the specialization of each sector, group or category of it, and in proportion to the quality of its activity.
5- The committee's tasks and competencies in the fields of health and medicines include developing the fields of health and medicines and constantly updating them in line with Arab and international standards. The committee shall be given the legal capacity by the leadership of the general Federation and the general administration of the Federation to bring in medical delegations at the expense of the committee. As well as the work of delegations for foreign visits. As well as the right to communicate with the health and drug committees in other countries. in order to develop cooperation among them.
6- Working on improving official transactions between health, medical and pharmaceutical services centers, institutions and companies affiliated to the private sector on the one hand, and official authorities such as the Ministry of Health and its branches and offices, as well as its affiliated bodies, and other relevant official authorities, On the other hand . Provided that the committee shall have representatives in the relevant authorities in the health and pharmaceutical sectors, directed by the leadership of the General Federation to appoint them.
7- Working in coordination with the leadership of the General Federation and the General Administration of the Federation to coordinate with the relevant legislative authorities, which leads to the improvement of legislation, laws, regulations and transactions related to aspects of the issues of the committee’s sectors and its various branches of work, and the development of laws and regulations in force in these sectors and aspects. which are related to his activity and the conduct of its business. Provided that the committee shall have representatives in the governmental aspects related to approving laws and legislations related to the private health and medical sector.
8- Work to raise the level of performance of the work of the private sector in the fields of health and medicines and their services, whether in terms of the quality of the performance of its employees, or in terms of developing and organizing health centers and institutions, medicines, supplies, tools and special medical machines in proportion to the needs of citizens and the requirements of global scientific progress. Including the establishment of quality assurance programs in medical and health facilities and their services, and the search for funding sources for those programs.
9- Coordination by the committee in all activities, events and works with the board of directors, the president of the Federation, the general administration of the Federation and the rest of the specialized committees of the Federation in order to enhance the effectiveness of the activity of the various sectors of its work, and in accordance with the methods used in work.
10 - Develop rehabilitation and training programs to raise the level of workers in private health, medical and pharmaceutical services centers, institutions and companies in the areas of competence of the Committee by taking advantage of the resources provided by the state or the Federation and the chambers of commerce and industry, or Arab and international donor bodies.
11- Work on evaluating the level of various services provided by the private sector in the various fields of health, medicines and the specialties of the committee, provided that this includes reliance on a questionnaire of citizens’ opinions on the health and pharmaceutical services provided. And in order to improve medical and health services, a coordinator of the committee is appointed by the leadership of the General Federation and the General Administration of the Federation in each of the following: The Ministry of Health - the Supreme Authority for Medicines - and in the medical services departments in the capital secretariat and in the governorates.
12- Participation in Arab and international committees and federations concerned with health and medicines and their affiliated service facilities, participation in relevant international conferences and exhibitions, and benefiting from the experiences of the private health and medicine sectors in the Arab Gulf states and the Arab world
